Actively promote the diversified development of China-Thailand Fisheries trade ----- Visited the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Guangzhou
On November 16, PHATTHAKORN TANMANEE, Consul for Agriculture of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Guangzhou, received Xu Han, Vice President and Secretary General of Guangdong Fisheries Circulation and Processing Association, and Peng Ying, Director of the Organizing Committee of Guangzhou International Fishery Expo. The two sides had extensive exchanges on the trade of aquatic products between China and Thailand.
PHATTHAKORN TANMANEE, Agricultural Consul, said that the Thai Consulate has been actively promoting the trade of Thai agricultural products and aquatic products to China. The trade of South American white shrimp, tiger shrimp, crab, surmince and other products has been good to China. However, due to the impact of the epidemic, transportation restrictions, customs nucleic acid testing and other factors, In 2020, the total amount of Thailand's aquatic products exported to China was 79,394.049 tons. From January to September in 2021, the total amount of Thailand's aquatic products exported to China was 36,635.014 tons, decreasing by 37.88% year-on-year. Thailand's aquatic products trade with China has changed, but they are still seeking more channels to promote the development of the industry. After extensive exchanges, the two sides reached a consensus: diversified business mode, more participation in online and offline activities, expand more business channels, they have been looking forward to a rebound in trade after the epidemic.
Consul Zhou Weihong is very grateful for the platform provided by Guangzhou International Fishery Fair, and has been actively recommending the participation of Thai enterprises. They believe that Guangzhou International Fishery Fair is a rare good opportunity in China, and it is very necessary. In Guangzhou International Fishery Fair this year, some Thai shrimp dealers took part in the fair with their products and achieved certain exhibition effects.
Ms. Xu Han said: Thank you very much for Consul Zhou Weihong's trust and support for our work! As the organizing committee of the industry association, we are willing to provide more effective information for the development of aquatic products trade between China and Thailand, accurately connect with customers in need, provide more procurement convenience for members, and welcome more good products from Thailand to be exported to China.
