The Philippines Transport and Logistics Exhibition was held on August 15-17,2019 at the International Trade and Exhibition Center in Manila, Philippines. The exhibition is its seventh year and is the only professional logistics exhibition in the Philippines. The exhibition area is 8,000 square meters, with more than 100 exhibitors, covering trucks, commercial vehicles, handling equipment, storage equipment and supply chain solutions and services. This exhibition provides more comprehensive world-class technology, service and informative seminars for different visitors. Local Philippine companies account for most of the exhibition, and the number of Chinese companies is second only to the Philippines. The exhibition attracted 5,685 professional visitors. The audience has a very high intention of purchasing or cooperation with storage equipment, forklifts and forklift parts of Chinese enterprises.
In 2018, China and the Philippines established a comprehensive strategic cooperative relationship, and China-Philippines trade has developed rapidly. Chinese enterprises have invested in the Philippines and sought cooperation opportunities. The Philippines is the most favored Southeast Asian country among Chinese enterprises besides Vietnam. Last year, China has overtaken Japan as the Philippines's largest trading partner. Companies across the Philippines are responding to the country's call for special construction, while Chinese companies are quickly seeing emerging business opportunities to export more logistics equipment, manufacturing and construction equipment to the country. In this context, the Philippine Logistics Exhibition provides a platform for Chinese enterprises to enter the Philippine market. Many exhibitors believe that the closer relationship between China and the Philippines is one of the important factors in their decision to participate in the exhibition. Not only are Chinese companies taking advantage of the better relationship between the two countries, but many Philippine companies also recognize the benefits of connecting with their Chinese counterparts. At the meeting, several exhibitors were actually local branches, importers and distributors of Chinese enterprises, such as Dongfeng truck, JAC vehicles, BYD forklift, Nori forklift, Dennis shelves, QSL Motors, T-King and so on. Chinese companies' products are cheap and fine, and the Philippines is more interested in Chinese-made products, which is a huge market to be developed.
